1Certificate of Admission for Student Visa Issuance

Successful applicants who registered within the registration period should receive the standard admission certificate issued by CAU. Upon receipt of the standard admission certificate, applicants must submit the standard admission certificate to the Immigration Office to get the D-2 visa.

¡ÚTo receive the standard admission certificate, applicants must submit the required documents proving their sponsor's financial capability (refer to page 11)¡Ú

2Student Visa (D-2) Application and Issuance
ADomestic Residents

    Among domestic residents, the holders of D-4 Visa should apply for the change of status at the Immigration Office, by applying for D-2 Visa, before the semester starts.

    Required Documents for change of status (From D-4 Visa to D-2 Visa)

    • Passport and alien registration card
    • Application Form for Change of Status(provided at Immigration Office)
    • Two color ID photos (3.5cm ¡¿ 4.5cm)
    • Certificate of Admission issued by CAU (informed on page 11)
    • Receipt of Tuition fee
    • Verification of Account Balance (of over US$13,000)
    • Certificate of expected graduation from Korean Language Institute (Attendance rate, Grade included)
    • Most recent certificate of school record with an Apostille or Korean consular legalization
    • A certificate of Family Register (Hukoubu, original one or notarized document, For Chinese students only)
BForeign Residents

    Students with Chinese or Cuban nationality: Certificate for Visa Issuance is required

    • According to the Korean Immigration Law, the university applies for visa issuance certificate for students at the Immigration Office, and informs students of his/her visa issuance certificate number.
    • Pertinent candidates are supposed to apply for this process individually to CAU during the given application period after paying the tuition deposit.
    • Application period: January 19, 2015(Mon) ~ January 21, 2015(Wed) 17:00
    • How to apply: Submit the following documents to the CAU Office of International Affairs through the mail
    • Application form for Certificate of Admission (informed on page 11)
    • Verification of applicant's or sponsor's account balance (over US$13,000)
    • A Copy of Passport and ID card
    • receipt of Deposit
    • Most recent certificate of school record with an Apostille or Korean consular legalization
    • Two color ID photos (3.5cm ¡¿ 4.5cm)
  • ¡ÚIf successful applicants fail to take the CAU Korean Proficiency Test because of delayed visa issuance due to applicant's belated document submission, they will be automatically put into a pathway program at CAU where students take designated Korean courses at the CAU Institute of International Education while on a leave of absence status. (Except for students who submit the documents for exemption from the Korean Proficiency Test)¡Ú

    Students with nationality other than Chinese or Cuban: students apply for a D-2 Visa directly through the Korean Embassy or Consulate in their home country.

      • Certificate of Admission issued by CAU (informed on page 11)
      • Passport
      • Application Form for Visa Issuance (provided at the embassy or consulate)
      • Some embassies or consulates may require additional documents (i.e. receipt of university registration fee, most recent certificate of school record, reference, certificate of account balance, etc.)
CForeign residents admitted into Korea without a visa
