Regarding Entry Procedure into Korea for 2021-1 International Students

All international students entering Korea need to take a total of 3 PCR tests, as below:

[Overall Procedure (in order of business)]

1. Within 72 hours before departure: Need to take 1st PCR test

2. Before/During boarding of plane: Need to provide negative PCR test result

3. After landing/arriving at Korea: Need to take 2nd PCR test (if student shows COVID19 symptoms – at airport / if student does not show COVID19 symptoms – near place of residence within 1 day of arrival)

           1) IF result is ‘positive’ : Need to quarantine at facility

           2) IF result is ‘negative’: Need to go to place of residence and self-quarantine. Need to fill out monitory app every day.

4. Before 2-week self-quarantine is over: Need to take 3rd PCR test

Students will need to download a monitoring app at the airport, and head directly to their destinations (no detours allowed). Masks should be worn at all times; if not, students may need to pay a fine.

Students who provide false information/data regarding their health status or disregard quarantine protocols will be responsible for the payment of their own treatment from COVID-19. In extreme cases, students disregarding protocol will pay a fine and may be deported from Korea.

Please also refer to the OIA’s previous notice and FAQ regarding PCR test. Please visit the official COVID19 website(ncov.mohw.go.kr) or www.studyinkorea.go.kr for more information.
