Guidelines regarding the students who visit China related to the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)

This is to inform you Chung-Ang University¡¯s policy and guidelines regarding university attendance limitation and dormitory move-in related to the current novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

 

1. Attandance Limitation

 

1) Those who have been in the Hubei Province within 14 days since the date of your entry to Korea. (Regardless of ¡®with¡¯ or ¡®without symptoms¡¯)

According to guidelines provided by Korean Ministry of Education, those who have been in the Hubei Province are completely banned from attending school for at least 14 days since the date of your entry into Korea.

 

If you have a high fever (over 37.5¡É) or respiratory problems (coughing, difficulty breathing, a sore throat, etc.), please contact KCDC (Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, call 1339) or local health center and visit the designated medical institution according to their advice.

 

And please inform the situation to Chung-Ang University Health Care Center & OIA immediately.

2) Those who have been to any Chinese region within 14 days prior to date of entry to Korea and are showing symptoms of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) (high fever or coughing, difficulty breathing, a sore throat, etc.):

 

According to guidelines provided by Korean Ministry of Education, those who have the symptoms are completely banned from attending school for at least 14 days since the date of your entry into Korea.

 

And please inform the situation to Chung-Ang University Health Care Center & OIA immediately.

3) Those who have been to any Chinese region(except Hubei Providence) within 14 days prior to date of entry to Korea and are not showing symptoms of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV):

You may attend classes but need to fill out a self-questionnaire for your own keeping, check your temperature repeatedly, and wear a mask at all times (mask will be provided at the CAU Health Care Center).

 

4) Those who have been in contact with another person who either has been confirmed to have the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) or is suspected to have it:

 

According to guidelines provided by Korean Ministry of Education, those who have the symptoms are completely banned from attending school for at least 14 days since the date of your entry into Korea.

2. Academic Affairs

 

1) Spring 2020 Semester will start from March 16th as planned. But for those of 1), 2), and 4), emergence counter-measures will be prepared, and if the academic schedule should be modified according to the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) situation, it will be informed again.

 

2) But for those who are banned for attendance due to novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) symptoms or policy, you are allowed to attend school after the 14 days are over and your attendance will be collected accordingly. More information and guidelines regarding academic affairs and class attendance will be noticed again.

 

3. Dormitory Policy

 

1) Those who have been in the Hubei Province It is banned to move in for 14 days since the date of your entry into Korea.

 

2) Those who have been in the Hubei Province and have symptoms of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) (high fever or respiratory problems, such as coughing, difficulty breathing, a sore throat, etc.).

 

It¡¯s prohibited to move in until the symptoms are no longer active.

 

3) Those who have been in contact with another person who either has been confirmed to have the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) or is suspected to have it:

 

It¡¯s banned to move in for 14 days since the date of your entry into Korea.

 

4) TB test result Submission

You should submit the TB test result which is issued within 2 weeks before Dormitory move in.

4. Others

 

1) Based on KCDC (Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)¡¯s policy and guidelines, university¡¯s policy could be changed and will be informed accordingly.

 

2) We would appreciate it if you could use our official email address as the first medium for any questions. We ask you to please refrain as much as possible from visiting the OIA for your own protection and if you must visit, please wear a mask for your own protection.

3) You will be able to pay for your health insurance online once you arrive, instead of buying it personally at the office of international affairs. Further notices will be sent to you via email near the start of the semester.

 

4) Mask and Sanitizer will be equiped for each classroom and Chung-Ang University is going to provide all the possible support to prevent the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) diffusion.
