Greetings from the Office of International Affairs at CAU!

We are excited to announce that this year¡¯s CAU SEE-SAW program is now open!

This buddy-matching program connects exchange students currently studying at CAU with CAU students planning to study abroad in the upcoming spring semester. This is a great way to meet local students interested in your home university or country.

Program Information:

- Eligibility: inbound exchange student currently studying at Chung-Ang University (Fall 2024)

- Buddy Matching Process: Emails will be sent to each group of students categorized by same university – Fall 2024 inbound and Spring 2025 outbound – with students¡¯ email address.

* Matches can be made when there is a CAU student hoping to study at your home university or country.

- Matching Criteria: Each pair should include at least one exchange student currently studying at CAU (Fall 2024) and at least one CAU student planning to study as an exchange student at a university abroad in Spring 2025.

Guidelines for Participants – after completing a match:

1) Communicate respectfully. Inappropriate language or behavior will not be tolerated.

2) Be culturally sensitive. Open communication and the willingness to learn from each other¡¯s cultural differences is always welcome, but please make sure to respect each other¡¯s backgrounds and traditions while engaging in an open and considerate dialogue.

3) Prioritize your safety when meeting in person. Meetings in public locations such as cafes, restaurants, or our university campus is recommended rather than isolated or unfamiliar spaces. Please also avoid contacting your buddy late at night or meeting them alone in any personal residence.

4) Be aware of your surroundings and pay attention to any red flags or concerning behavior from your buddy. If any uncomfortable circumstances occur during your interaction with your buddy, feel free to consider ending the meeting. Your safety is our priority. Should an issue arise, please notify the OIA team immediately.

Note:

The participation is dependent on the availability of a matching CAU student interested in your home university or country. If no such match is available for Spring 2025, you may not be able to join the program. We appreciate your understanding.

Thank you for your interest in the See-Saw Program. We hope you enjoy this opportunity to connect and share cultures with fellow students!

Thank you,

The Office of International Affairs

Chung-Ang University
