[CAU Exchange Students] MERS Prevention Guidelines
Dear Students,
Please note that this is an announcement for prevention on MERS. The situation still seems critical, so the School encourages you to follow the recommended guidelines.
Specially, please refrain from travelling to other cities and minimize outdoor activities (grocery shopping, visiting religious facilites, or wherever crowd is expected).
1. Wear a mask if you're going to a crowded location.
- Government officials initially stated that airborne infection was very unlikely, but such assertion seems hard to support now. The virus can definitely spread through saliva or other bodily fluids, so it's best to wear a mask when you're riding a subway, bus or going to places like hospitals.
2. Wash your hands diligently. Also, use alcohol-based sanitizer whenever possible.
- Before and after going out, you should wash your hands. Use soap to scrub your hands for at least 30 seconds, rinsing between fingers, nails, etc.
3. Do not use your hand to block a sneeze or cough. If you do not have a handkerchief or tissue, use your shirtsleeve.
Also, if you have suspected symptoms, please report your situation to the housemaster directly and stay at your dorm room . The housemaster will guide you to get proper treatment accordingly.
Again, we thank you for the cooperation in advance.
Note: Wear masks outdoors, masks will be distributed to everyone at the health care center.
