[2023 헝가리순방①] 박상규 총장, 주헝가리 대사관 등 주요 기관 예방... 교류 협력 방안 논의

[2023 Visit to Hungary] President Park Sang-Gue and Hungarian Institutions Discuss Collaboration Plans for Exchange and Cooperation

박상규 총장을 비롯한 우리 대학 대표단이 7월 13일부터 20일까지 진행된 헝가리순방 기간 동안 주헝가리 대한민국 대사관, ELTE 대학, 헝가리 국가기록원 등 헝가리 주요 기관과 대학을 방문하며, 우리 대학과 헝가리 간의 글로벌 파트너십을 강화했다.

During the trip to Hungary from July 13th to 20th, President Park Sang-Gue and a delegation from our university visited key institutions and universities in Hungary, including the Republic of Korea Embassy, ELTE University, and the National Archives of Hungary. The visit aimed to strengthen the global partnership between our university and Hungary.

14일 박상규 총장, 김세일 사회교육처장, 권형일 국체처장, 신중범 국제교류팀장이 헝가리 국립 아카이브(National Archives of Hungary)를 방문했다. 우리 대학과 헝가리 국립 아카이브와의 협력 방안을 논의하기 위해서다. 써보 처버(Dr. Habil. Szabo Csaba) 원장과 미코 주전너(Dr. Mikó Zsuzsanna) 부원장, 김보국 동아시아연구소장이 우리 대학 대표단을 맞이했다. 

On the 14th, Park Sang-Gue, President of CAU, Dr. Kim Se-il, Office of Extended Learning, Dr. Kwon Hyung-il, Vice Provost of International Affairs, and Dr. JB Shin, Director of the Office of International Affairs, visited the National Archives of Hungary. The purpose of this visit was to discuss collaboration plans between our university and the National Archives of Hungary. The CAU delegation was welcomed by Director, Dr. Habil. Szabo Csaba, Deputy Director, Dr. Mikó Zsuzsanna, and Director, Kim Bo-guk, of the East Asia Research Institute.

헝가리 국립 아카이브는 1756년 부다페스트에 설립된 유럽 최초의 기록보존기관이다. 사료적 가치가 높은 우리나라 관련 기록물도 다수 소장하고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 특히, 지난해 헝가리 국립 아카이브 내에 동아시아연구소가 설립되면서 우리나라를 비롯한 아시아 대상 연구 활동을 활발히 진행하고 있다.

The National Archives of Hungary, founded in Budapest in 1756, is the first archival institution in Europe and is known to hold many records of high historical value, including those related to Korea. The East Asia Research Institute was established within the Hungarian National Archives last year to encourage Asian-focused research, including research on South Korea.

이번 방문을 통해 양 기관은 ▲디지털 인문학 ▲자료 해석 ▲자료의 디지털화 ▲EU 국가들과의 공동협력을 통한 우리나라 기록물 발굴·해석에 협력할 예정이다. 이를 위해 우리나라 국립중앙박물관이 참여하는 3자 협력도 추진한다. 또한, 내년 서울에서 개최되는 헝가리 국립 아카이브 콘퍼런스에 우리 대학이 최대한 협력하기로 했다. 

During this visit, both institutions planned to collaborate on ▲digital humanities ▲document interpretation ▲digitization of documents ▲discovering and interpreting Korean records through joint cooperation with EU countries. To facilitate these initiatives, a three-way collaborative agreement including our university, the National Archives of Hungary, and the National Museum of Korea is in progress. Additionally, our university committed to actively participate in the National Archives of Hungary Conference scheduled to be held in Seoul next year.

박상규 총장은 “유서 깊은 헝가리 국립 아카이브와 앞으로 긴밀한 협력 관계를 구축해 우수한 기술과 전문적인 지식을 서로 공유하면서 함께 발전해 나가길 희망한다”고 했다.

President Park Sang-Gue stated, "I hope that we can establish a close collaborative relationship with the highly esteemed National Archives of Hungary, sharing technological and professional knowledge with each other to grow stronger together."

이어 대표단은 7월 18일 주헝가리 대한민국 대사관을 찾아 홍규덕 대사, 강지오 1등 서기관을 만나 헝가리와 우리 대학의 협력 방안에 대해 논의했다. 

On July 18th, the CAU delegation visited the Republic of Korea Embassy in Hungary and discussed cooperation plans with Ambassador Hong Gyu-deok and First Secretary Kang Ji-oh. 

이날 미팅을 통해 대사관은 헝가리 정부의 방위산업, 원자력, 교육문화 사업에 우리 대학의 협력을 요청했다. 우리 대학 대표단은 언제든지 협력할 의사가 있음을 전하며, 한층 긴밀한 네트워크를 구축하기로 뜻을 모았다. 

During this meeting, the embassy requested our university's collaboration with Hungary's defense industry, nuclear power, education, and cultural initiatives. Our university's delegation expressed their interest in collaboration and agreed to further strengthen the network of cooperation.

우리 대학과 주헝가리 대사관의 교류 협력은 앞으로도 계속될 전망이다. 홍규덕 대사는 “2024년 헝가리 전체 은행 회의가 개최될 예정이다. 이 회의에 박상규 총장님을 한국대학교육협의회 대표 자격으로 초청하고 싶다”고 전했다. 

The cooperation between our university and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Hungary is expected to continue. Ambassador Hong Gyu-deok stated, "In 2024, Hungary will host the entire Hungarian banking conference. I would like to invite President Park Sang-Gue as the representative of the Korean Council for University Education to this conference."

대표단은 같은날 오후 주헝가리 한국문화원도 방문했다. 주헝가리 한국문화원은 세종학당을 운영하며 헝가리 국민에게 한국어 강좌를 제공하는 데 더해 우리나라의 문화를 소개하기 위한 활동을 활발히 펼치고 있다. 매년 한국영화제를 개최하고, 한국영화 OST 버스킹, 콘서트, 오케스트라 공연, 전시 등 각종 문화행사를 헝가리 현지에서 제공하는 중이다. 

Our university delegation also visited the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary. The Center includes the Sejong Institute and offers Korean language courses to Hungarian citizens, along with various cultural activities to promote Korean culture. These activities include an annual Korean film festival, Korean film OST busking, concerts, orchestra performances, exhibitions, and more.

인숙진 원장과 김병욱 대외협력팀장 등 주헝가리 한국문화원 관계자들은 우리 대학 자매교인 ▲ELTE(Eötvös Loránd University) ▲MOME(Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design)와 진행 중인 협력 프로그램을 대표단에게 소개했다. 컨템포러리 사진전, 한글실험프로젝트, 인문예술 강좌 제공 등 우리나라 문화를 확산하기 위해 시행 중인 노력들을 알리는 시간이었다. 이어 주헝가리 한국문화원과의 인턴 사업 등 다양한 협력 방안에 대한 논의가 함께 진행됐다. 

Representatives from the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary, including Director In Suk-jin and Team Leader of the External Cooperation Team Kim Byung-wook, introduced ongoing collaborative programs with our partner universities, ELTE (Eötvös Loránd University) and MOME (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design). The representatives discussed efforts to celebrate Korean culture, such as contemporary photography exhibitions, Korean language experiments, and humanities and arts courses. The discussion also touched upon various collaboration ideas, including internships with the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary.

마지막 일정은 20일 헝가리 국가경제부(Ministry of Economic Development) 라슬로 게오르기(Dr. László György) 차관의 초청으로 참석한 오찬이었다. 

The final event of the trip was a luncheon on July 20th, hosted by Dr. László György, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development of Hungary.

오찬을 통해 우리 대학과 헝가리 국가경제부는 경제 분야 협력 방안에 대한 심도 있는 논의를 진행했다. 그 결과 양 기관은 우리 대학 경영에 참여 중인 두산의 헝가리 산학협력 진출을 위해 힘을 모으기로 했다. 헝가리 수상이 내년에 우리나라를 방문할 때 우리 대학 캠퍼스도 함께 방문하기로 했으며, 현재 우리 대학에 주재 중인 우리나라 기업들과의 협력도 추진하기로 합의했다. 

During this luncheon, in-depth discussions about economic growth took place between our university and the Hungarian Ministry of Economic Development. As a result, both institutions committed to providing support to the Hungarian branch of Doosan, a company involved in our university's management. When the Prime Minister of Hungary visits Korea next year, representatives will also visit our university campus. All in all, collaborative efforts with Korean companies currently operating at our university will continue to be encouraged.

라슬로 게오르기(László György) 차관은 이날 “한국은 헝가리에게 있어 아시아 지역의 중요한 경제 파트너다. 양국의 우호적인 경제 협력 관계를 유지하는 데 있어 중앙대의 협력이 있으면 좋겠다”고 했으며, 이에 박상규 총장은 적극적인 협력을 약속했다. 

Deputy Minister László György stated, "Korea is an important economic partner for Hungary. I hope for an active collaboration between our countries and I look forward to seeing Chung-Ang University's involvement in this collaboration." In response, President Park Sang-Gue committed to actively engage in the collaboration. 

이번 우리 대학 대표단의 헝가리 방문은 대학 간의 교류를 넘어 헝가리 정부 주요 부처·기관과 네트워크를 구축하고, 다양한 분야의 협력 방안을 모색한 의미 있는 시간이었다는 평가다. 앞으로도 우리 대학은 헝가리 주요 기관, 자매 대학 등과의 관계를 발전시키며, 양 국가의 발전을 위해 협력할 계획이다.

The visit by our university's delegation to Hungary fostered inter-university exchanges and built networks with key organizations and institutions in Hungary. The important discussions with key institutions explored collaboration opportunities in various fields. Going forward, our university plans to further develop relations with key institutions and partner universities in Hungary for the development of both nations.
