The Office of International Affairs Attended Study Abroad Fairs in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam to Promote a More Diverse International Community at CAU

The CAU Office of International
Affairs recently participated in Korean study abroad fairs held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan;
Almaty, Kazakhstan; and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, with the goal of making the
international student body at CAU more diverse.
±¹Á¦Ã³´Â ¿ì¸®³ª¶ó À¯Çп¡ °ü½ÉÀÌ Å« Âü¼®ÀÚµéÀ» ´ë»óÀ¸·Î ¿ì¸® ´ëÇÐ ÇкΡ¤´ëÇпø¡¤¾îÇп¬¼ö °úÁ¤ ÁøÇÐ »ó´ãÀ» ½Ç½ÃÇß´Ù. 1700¿© ¸íÀÇ ÇлýÀÌ ¿ì¸® ´ëÇÐ ºÎ½º¸¦ ¹æ¹®ÇØ »ó´ãÀ» ¹Þ¾Ò´Ù.
During the events, the Office
of International Affairs provided guidance to students interested in studying
in South Korea for their undergraduate or graduate degree programs and/or
language exchange programs. Over 1,700 students visited our university's booth
and received counseling.
±¹Á¦Ã³ °ü°èÀÚ´Â ¡°2022³â ±âÁØ º£Æ®³²¿¡¼´Â 3¸¸7000¿© ¸í, ¿ìÁŰ½ºÅº¿¡¼´Â 8000¿© ¸í, Ä«ÀÚÈ彺ź¿¡¼´Â 1000¿© ¸íÀÌ ¿ì¸®³ª¶ó·Î À¯ÇÐÀ» ¿À°í ÀÖ´Ù. À̹ø¿¡ »ó´ãÀ» ¹ÞÀº ÀοøµéÀÌ ÇâÈÄ 1, 2³â ³» ¿ì¸® ´ëÇп¡ ÀÔÇÐ Áö¿øÀ» ÇÒ °ÍÀ¸·Î ±â´ëµÈ´Ù¡±°í ¸»Çß´Ù.
An official from the Office of International Affairs stated, "In 2022, there were approximately 37,000 Vietnamese students, 8,000 Uzbekistani students, and 1,000 Kazakhstani students studying in South Korea. We expect that many of the students who received counseling during these events will apply for admission to our university within the next one to two years."

The Office of International Affairs delegation was led by the Director of the International Affairs Team, JB Shin, and Manager of International Enrollment, Jang Yong-hwa. The delegation participated in the Uzbekistan study abroad fair from the September 14th to 16th and the Kazakhstan study abroad fair held on September 17th. The Uzbekistan study abroad fair had 18 participating universities and the Kazakhstan study abroad fair had 8 participating universities.
¹Ú¶÷ȸ ºÎ½º¸¦ ÅëÇØ ¿ì¸® ´ëÇÐÀº ÇöÁö ¾ð¾î·Î Á¦ÀÛµÈ ÇÐÀ§°úÁ¤ ¼Ò°³ÀÚ·á¿Í È«º¸ÀڷḦ È°¿ëÇÏ¸ç ³»½Ç ÀÖ´Â »ó´ãÀ» ÁøÇàÇß´Ù. ÇöÀå Âü¼®ÀÌ ¾î·Á¿î Áö¹æ °ÅÁÖÀÚ¸¦ À§ÇØ ¿Â¶óÀÎ ÀÔÇм³¸íȸ¿Í ÇöÀå ÀÔÇм³¸íȸ¸¦ º´ÇàÇØ ÇöÁö Çлýµé·ÎºÎÅÍ Å« È£ÀÀÀ» ¾ò±âµµ Çß´Ù.
At the study abroad fair booths, our university provided informational material about degree programs and discussed our programs in detail with potential students. To reach students in remote areas who were unable to attend in person, online admission briefings were held in addition to the on-site sessions. Overall, we received a very positive response from the local students in each of the countries.
±¹Á¦Ã³ °ü°èÀÚµéÀº ±³·ù È®´ë ¹æ¾ÈÀ» ³íÀÇÇϱâ À§ÇØ ¿ìÁŰ½ºÅº ¼¼°è¾ð¾î´ëÇÐ(Uzbekistan State World Languages University), Ä«ÀÚÈå ¾Æºí¶óÀÌÇÑ ±¹Á¦°ü°è ¹× ¼¼°è¾ð¾î´ëÇб³(Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages)µµ ¹æ¹®Çß´Ù. Ä«ÀÚÈå ¾Æºí¶óÀÌÇÑ ±¹Á¦°ü°è ¹× ¼¼°è¾ð¾î´ëÇб³´Â ¿ì¸®³ª¶ó Á¤ºÎ°¡ Áö¿øÇÏ´Â ÇØ¿Ü Çѱ¹ÇÐ ÁßÇÙ´ëÇÐ À°¼º»ç¾÷°ú ÇØ¿Ü Çѱ¹ÇÐ ¾¾¾ÑÇü »ç¾÷¿¡ Á߾Ӿƽþƿ¡¼ À¯ÀÏÇÏ°Ô ¼±Á¤µÇ¸ç, Çѱ¹ÇÐ ¿¬±¸¿ª·®°ú Çѱ¹¾î ±³À° ´É·ÂÀ» ÀÎÁ¤¹ÞÀº ´ëÇÐÀÌ´Ù.
The Office of International Affairs delegation also visited Uzbekistan State World Languages University and Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages to discuss ways to expand educational exchanges. Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages is the only university in Central Asia that was selected for the South Korean government's overseas Korean studies core university development project and the overseas Korean studies seed-type project. The University has received recognition for its outstanding research in Korean studies and excellent Korean language program.
À̹ø ¹æ¹®À» ÅëÇØ ¿ì¸® ´ëÇаú µÎ ´ëÇÐÀº ±³È¯Çлý ±³·ù Çù·Â È®´ë, 2+2 ÆíÀÔÇÐ ÇùÁ¤Ã¼°á ÃßÁø, Çѱ¹¾îÇаú ¼ö¾÷ Âü°ü, ÇöÁö ´Üµ¶ ÀÔÇм³¸íȸ ÃßÁø, Çѱ¹ÇÐ ÄÜÆÛ·±½º Âü°¡ µî ±³·ù È®´ë ¹æ¾ÈµéÀ» ³õ°í ³íÀǸ¦ ÁøÇàÇß´Ù.
During the visit, our university and the two aforementioned universities discussed plans to expand student exchange programming, promote 2+2 transfer agreements, observe Korean language classes, hold local admission information sessions, and participate in Korean studies conferences.
±¹Á¦Ã³ °ü°èÀÚ´Â ¡°Ä«ÀÚÈ彺ź°ú ¿ìÁŰ½ºÅºÀº ÀþÀº ÃþÀÇ Çѱ¹ ¹®È ¼±È£, ¿ì¼öÇÑ Çѱ¹¾î ½Àµæ´É·Â, KT&G, AT, »ï¼º, Æ÷½ºÄÚ, LG, Çö´ë±â¾ÆÂ÷ µî ¿ì¸®³ª¶ó ±â¾÷ÀÇ ÇöÁö ÁøÃâ, ³ôÀº ±³À°¿ µî À¯Çлý À¯Ä¡¸¦ À§ÇÑ ¿ìÈ£ÀûÀÎ Á¶°ÇÀ» °®Ãß°í ÀÖ´Ù. ÇâÈÄ ¿ì¼öÇÑ À¯ÇлýÀÇ Áö¼ÓÀûÀÎ À¯ÀÔÀÌ ±â´ëµÇ´Â ±¹°¡¡±¶ó°í ÀüÇß´Ù.
An Office of International Affairs official stated, "Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have favorable points that will help spark the interest of international students to study in Korea, including the younger generation¡¯s enthusiasm for Korean culture, overall excellent Korean language proficiency, and the presence of Korean companies like KT&G, AT, Samsung, POSCO, LG, and Hyundai-Kia in their local markets. We anticipate a continuous influx of high-quality international students from these countries."
16ÀÏ°ú 17ÀÏ ÀÌƲ°£ ÁøÇàµÈ º£Æ®³² ȣġ¹Î Çѱ¹ À¯Çйڶ÷ȸ¿¡´Â ±¹Á¦±³·ùÆÀ ÀÌÁ¤¹Î Â÷Àå, ±èÇöÁØ Â÷Àå, ÀÌ°æºó ÁÖÀÓÀÌ Âü¼®Çß´Ù.
The Ho Chi Minh City Korean Study Abroad Fair in Vietnam was held from September 16th to 17th, 2023. Staff from our Office of International Affairs attended, including Deputy Director Lee Jeong-min, Deputy Director of Admissions Kim Hyun-jun, and International Program Manager Lee Kyung-bin.
º£Æ®³²Àº ÃÖ±Ù À¯Çлý À¯Ä¡ °ü·Ã ÁÖ¿ä ±¹°¡·Î ºÎ»óÇÏ°í ÀÖ´Ù. 2017³âºÎÅÍ À¯Çлý ¼ö°¡ ²ÙÁØÈ÷ Áõ°¡ÇÏ´Â Á¡À» º¼ ¶§ °¡±î¿î ½ÃÀÏ¿¡ Áß±¹ ±¹Àû À¯Çлý ¼ö¸¦ ³Ñ¾î¼³ °ÍÀ¸·Î ¿¹»óµÇ´Â ±¹°¡À̱⠶§¹®ÀÌ´Ù.
In the past few years, the number of Vietnamese students studying in South Korea has increased drastically. The number of Vietnamese students studying in Korea is expected to surpass the number of Chinese students soon due to this sudden noticeable trend starting in 2017.
À̹ø ¹Ú¶÷ȸ¿¡´Â ¿ì¸®³ª¶ó 20°³ ´ëÇÐÀÌ Âü¼®ÇßÀ¸¸ç, ±× Áß ¿ì¸® ´ëÇÐÀÇ »ó´ã ºÎ½º ¿î¿µÀÌ °¡Àå È°¹ßÈ÷ ÀÌ·ïÁø °ÍÀ¸·Î È®ÀεƴÙ.
The Vietnam study abroad fair had twenty participating Korean universities, however, our university's information booth was the most active.
±¹Á¦Ã³ °ü°èÀÚ´Â ¡°À̹ø ¹Ú¶÷ȸ ÃâÀåÀ» ÅëÇØ ¿ì¸® ´ëÇп¡ ´ëÇÑ À¯ÇлýµéÀÇ Å« °ü½ÉÀ» È®ÀÎÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ¾ú´Ù. ±¹°¡¿Í Áö¿ªº°·Î ÁøÇÐÇÏ°íÀÚ ÇÏ´Â °úÁ¤°ú ¼±È£ÇÏ´Â Àü°øÀÇ ºÐÆ÷µµ ÆÄ¾Ç °¡´ÉÇß´Ù¡±¸ç, ¡°¿ì¼öÇÑ À¯ÇлýÀ» À¯Ä¡ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖµµ·Ï ÇöÁö Çѱ¹±³À°¿ø°ú Çù·Â °ü°è¸¦ ±¸ÃàÇØ ¿ì¸® ´ëÇÐ ´Üµ¶ ÀԽü³¸íȸ¸¦ ÃßÁøÇÒ °èȹ¡±À̶ó°í ¸»Çß´Ù.
An Office of International Affairs official stated, "Through our participation in this fair, we were able to confirm significant interest in our university from international students. We were also able to identify the preferred majors and desired courses by country and region. To attract outstanding international students, we plan to establish collaborative relationships with Korean education institutions abroad and organize exclusive admission sessions about our university."
