우리 대학의 ‘국제겨울학기 프로그램(IWP, International Winter Program)’이 16일을 기점으로 대장정의 막을 올렸다. 

Our university’s ‘International Winter Program (IWP)’ began its journey on the 16th.

이번 프로그램에는 우리나라 문화와 언어에 큰 관심을 갖고 있는 6개국 15개 자매대학의 학생들이 참여했다. 호주 University of Newcastle, 미국 California State University Stanislaus, 대만 Soochow University, Tamkang University, 중국 Guilin University of Technology, Beijing Normal University 등 다양한 대학의 학생들이 우리 대학을 찾았다. 

Students from 15 sister universities in 6 countries who have great interest in Korean culture and language participated in this program. Students from various universities visited our university, including the University of Newcastle in Australia, California State University Stanislaus in the United States, Soochow University and Tamkang University in Taiwan, Guilin University of Technology in China, and Beijing Normal University.

첫날에는 해외 각지에서 온 참가자들이 우리 대학 재학생들로 구성된 ‘버디’들과 함께 어울리는 시간을 가졌다. 우리 대학에 대해 궁금했던 점은 물론 우리나라 문화에 대해서도 알아보는 자리였다. 

On the first day, participants from all over the world spent time hanging out with ‘buddies’ who were students at our university. It was an opportunity to not only learn about our university but also learn about our country’s culture.

이어 국제처 국제학생대사 글램(Glam, Global Ambassador)이 주관하는 캠퍼스 투어가 진행됐다. 국제겨울학기가 진행되는 기간 동안 외국인 학생들이 편안히 생활할 수 있도록 적극 도울 예정인 글램은 캠퍼스 투어를 통해 우리 대학 캠퍼스를 둘러볼 기회를 제공하며 국제겨울학기에 대한 기대감을 한층 높이는 데 집중했다. 

Next, a campus tour was conducted by Glam (Global Ambassador) of the Office of International Affairs. Glam, which plans to actively help international students live comfortably during the international winter semester, focused on raising expectations for the international winter semester by providing opportunities to tour our university's campus through campus tours.

참가 학생들은 문화체험 프로그램인 경복궁 한복체험에 특히 큰 호응을 보였다. 수은주가 영하 10도 가까이 떨어지는 추운 날씨였음에도 불구하고 한복을 입고 고궁을 둘러보는 색다른 경험을 할 수 있어 좋았다는 소감을 전했다. 

Participating students showed a particularly positive response to the cultural experience program, Gyeongbokgung Hanbok Experience. Even though the weather was cold, with the mercury falling close to -10 degrees Celsius, students said 
that it was nice to be able to have a unique experience of touring an old palace wearing a hanbok.

다음달 2일에 마무리될 예정인 국제겨울학기에 참가 중인 학생들은 우리나라 생활에 필요한 문장들을 비롯한 다양한 한국어 표현을 수업을 통해 배우는 중이다. 국제처는 난타 퍼포먼스 관람, 전쟁 기념관 관람과 특강, K-POP 댄스 레슨, 아이스 스케이팅 등 K-컬쳐를 중심으로 한 다양한 문화체험을 통해 외국인 학생들이 우리나라 문화를 더 쉽게 접하고, 깊이있게 이해할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 계획이다. 

Students participating in the International Winter Program, which is scheduled to end on the 2nd of next month, are learning various Korean expressions, including sentences necessary for life in our country, through classes. The Office of International Affairs provides opportunities for foreign students to more easily encounter and deeply understand Korean culture through various cultural experiences centered on K-culture, such as viewing Nanta performances, War M
emorials, special lectures, K-POP dance lessons, and ice skating.

이번 국제학기 프로그램을 주관하는 우리 대학 국제처는 매년 겨울방학에는 국제겨울학기, 여름방학에는 국제여름학기(ISP, International Summer Program)를 개최하고 있다. 

Our university's Office of International Affairs, which hosts this international semester program, holds the International Winter Program
 in the winter vacation and the International Summer Program (ISP) in the summer vacation every year.

국제처 관계자는 “올해 여름에는 우리 대학 재학생도 함께 참여할 수 있는 프로그램을 준비하고 있다”고 전했다. 

An official from the Office of International Affairs said, “This summer, we are preparing a program in which our university students can also participate.”
