우리 대학에서 공부 중인 교환학생들이 자신의 모교와 국가를 홍보하며, 글로벌 문화를 우리 대학 캠퍼스에 확산하는 ‘CAU Global Fair’가 성공적으로 마무리됐다.

Exchange students currently studying at our university have successfully concluded the 'CAU Global Fair,' where they promoted their home universities and countries, spreading global culture throughout our university campus.

‘2023학년도 2학기 CAU Global Fair’ 행사가 1일과 2일 양일간 우리 대학 310관(100주년 기념관) 야외광장에서 진행됐다.

The '2023 Fall Semester CAU Global Fair' took place over two days at the outdoor plaza of our university's 310 Building (Centennial Memorial Hall).

CAU Global Fair는 매년 국제처 국제교류팀의 지원을 받아 교환학생들이 만드는 축제의 장이다. 교환학생들이 자신의 모교와 국가를 소개하는 행사를 통해 여러 국가의 문화권을 체험해볼 수 있는 것은 물론 교환학생 프로그램에 대한 관심을 환기시키는 효과로도 이어지고 있다.

Supported annually by the International Office's International Exchange Team, the CAU Global Fair serves as a festival created by exchange students. This event not only allows attendees to experience cultures from various countries through presentations by exchange students about their home universities, but also generates interest in exchange programs.

이번 2학기 행사 주제는 ‘CAUPOLY’였다. 33개국 114개 자매교에서 온 200명의 교환학생이 행사에 참여했다.

The theme for this semester's event was 'CAUPOLY,' with the participation of 200 exchange students from 33 countries and 114 sister universities.

이번 행사를 통해 스테이지 액티비티, 국제처에서 주관하는 카운셀링 부스 등 다양한 이벤트들이 펼쳐졌다.

Various events, including stage activities and counseling booths organized by the International Office, unfolded during the fair.

1일에는 한국 노래를 외국인 학생이 듣고 웅얼거리는 것을 단서로 노래를 맞추는 ‘Guess The Song’ 이벤트가 열렸다. 매운 라면 중 하나로 손꼽히는 불닭볶음면을 가장 빠르게 먹는 학생에게 상품을 전달하는 ‘Bul-dak Challenge’도 함께 진행됐다.

On the first day, there was a 'Guess The Song' event where foreign students listened to Korean songs and tried to guess them, as well as the 'Bul-dak Challenge,' where students competed to eat spicy Buldak chicken ramen the fastest.

2일에는 주제를 공개한 뒤 해당 주제에 알맞은 사람을 찾아서 무대로 데려오는 ‘Find it ASAP’ 이벤트가 참가자들의 눈길을 사로잡았다. 40초 안에 제시되는 영어문장을 정확하게 읽는 ‘Tongue Twister’ 이벤트에도 많은 관심이 쏠렸다.

On the second day, the 'Find it ASAP' event, where participants searched for individuals matching a given theme and brought them to the stage, captured the audience's attention. The 'Tongue Twister' event, where participants had to accurately read an English sentence within 40 seconds, also garnered much interest.

해외 대학들에 대한 실질적인 정보 교류가 이뤄지기도 했다. 해외 교환학생 부스, 운영진 부스, 특별 무대 등 다양한 부스들이 마련됐기에 가능한 일이다. 카운셀링 부스를 통해 교환학생 프로그램에 대한 궁금증을 해결하는 기회도 주어졌다.

Practical information exchange with foreign universities took place through various booths, including those for overseas exchange students, organizing teams, and special stages. Counseling booths provided an opportunity to address questions about exchange programs.

이번 행사 준비부터 시행까지 전 과정에는 국제학생대사(Global Ambassador, GLAM)가 주도적으로 참여했다. 우리 대학 학생들과 교환학생들 간 교류를 한층 더 활성화하기 위해서다. 보드게임 프로그램과 무대 프로그램 등 중앙인들의 끼를 마음껏 표현할 수 있는 시간이 글램 주도 하에 마련되기도 했다.

Throughout the entire process, from preparation to execution, Global Ambassadors (GLAM) actively participated to enhance interactions between our university students and exchange students. Under the leadership of GLAM, time was allocated for central figures to express themselves through activities such as board games and stage programs.

박상규 총장도 1일 행사장을 찾아 학생들과 소통하는 시간을 가졌다. 교환학생들이 꾸린 부스를 체험하며 응원과 격려를 건네는 것도 잊지 않았다. 교환학생들과 총장님이 함께 진행하는 퀴즈이벤트가 열리기도 했다.

On the first day, President Park Sang-kyu visited the event venue, engaging in communication with students. He did not forget to experience the booths set up by exchange students and to offer support and encouragement. A quiz event, jointly conducted by the President and exchange students, also took place.

박상규 총장은 “33개국 114개 자매교에서 온 학생들이 직접 부스 운영에 참여한 것을 대견하게 생각한다. 활기가 넘치는 캠퍼스 모습을 보게 돼 기쁘다. 새로운 문화에 대해 배우고 교감하는 이런 행사를 통해 우리 중앙대가 글로벌 대학으로 더욱 발전할 수 있기를 바란다”고 전했다.

President Park Sang-kyu expressed, "I am impressed that students from 33 countries and 114 sister universities actively participated in booth operations. I am pleased to see the vibrant campus atmosphere. Through events like these that involve learning about and interacting with new cultures, I hope our Chung-Ang University can further develop into a global institution.
