국제처 국제교류팀, 경기기계공고 대상 ‘찾아가는 외국인전형 입학설명회’ 개최

The Office International Affairs Team Hosts "On-site Foreign Student Admissions Information Session" for Gyeonggi Machine Technical High School

우리 대학 국제처 국제교류팀이 6일 서울 노원구에 위치한 경기기계공업고등학교에서 ‘찾아가는 학부 외국인전형 입학설명회’를 개최했다.

Our university's Office of International Affairs team organized an on-site foreign student admissions information session at Gyeonggi Machine Technical High School located in Nowon-gu, Seoul, on the 6th day of this month.

 

 

설명회는 ▲진학담당교사 면담 ▲홍보 동영상 시청 ▲외국인전형 입학설명회 ▲질의응답 ▲기념사진 촬영 순으로 진행됐다.

The session included▲ consultation time with college admissions counselors ▲ promotional video watching ▲ a foreign student admissions information presentation ▲ Q&A session ▲ and commemorative photo taking.

 

국제처는 이날 설명회와 Q&A 세션 등 ONE-STOP 정보 공유 서비스를 통해 입학에 필요한 자세한 정보를 전달했다. 학생들이 현장에서 궁금해 하는 다양한 질문에 상세하게 답변하는 시간도 가졌다.

Throughout the information and Q&A session, the Office of International Affairs team provided detailed information necessary for admissions via a one-stop information-sharing service. There was also time dedicated to answering various questions students had on-site.

 

이날 설명회에 참여한 경기기계공고는 서울시교육청과 국가별 한국문화원의 추천을 받아 입학하는 외국인 유학생이 늘어나고 있는 학교다. 유학생 대부분은 몽골, 우즈베키스탄, 카자흐스탄 등 중앙아시아 출신이며, 졸업생 중 상당수가 TOPIK(한국어능력시험) 5, 6급을 취득하고 있어 국내 대학 진학 수요가 크다는 평가다.

Gyeonggi Machine Technical High School is a school with increasing enrollment in recent years. Foreign students attending Gyeonggi Machine Technical High School have been recommended by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and the Korean Culture Center. Most of the international students are originally from Central Asian countries such as Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. A significant number of graduates from the high school achieved level 5 and 6 TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) scores. There is high demand for admission to domestic universities by these outstanding students.

 

국제교류팀 관계자는 “이번 설명회를 통해 진학교사와 중앙아시아·베트남▲중국 등 다양한 외국인 학생들이 우리 대학에 큰 관심이 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다”며 “앞으로도 국제교류팀은 국내 고교에 재학 중인 우수 외국인 학생들에게 입학 정보를 상세히 제공하며, 우수 학생을 유치하기 위해 정기적으로 찾아가는 입학설명회를 진행할 계획”이라고 전했다.

An official from the Office of International Affairs (OIA) stated, "Through this information session, we confirmed the significant interest of various foreign students, particularly from Central Asia, Vietnam, and China, in our university." They added, "In the future, the OIA plans to provide detailed admission information to outstanding foreign students currently enrolled in domestic high schools and regularly hold admissions information sessions to attract excellent students."
