‘독일 쾰른대, 영국 노팅엄 트렌트대’ 우리 대학 방문... MOU 체결 논의

University of Cologne, Nottingham Trent University from the UK visits our University for Discussions of collaboration and a MOU Signing

독일 쾰른대학(University of Cologne)과 영국 노팅엄 트렌트 대학(Nottingham Trent University)이 19일과 20일 우리 대학을 방문해 MOU 체결과 협력에 관한 논의를 진행했다.

On the 19th and 20th of this month, the University of Cologne in Germany and Nottingham Trent University in the UK visited our university for discussions of collaboration and, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

19일 우리 대학을 방문한 독일 쾰른대는 1388년 설립된 유서 깊은 대학으로 5만여 명의 대규모 재학생을 보유하고 있다. QS 세계대학평가에서는 335위에 랭크 돼 있다. 

The University of Cologne, which visited our university on the 19th of this month, is a prestigious institution founded in 1388 with a rich history. The institution has a substantial student body of over 50,000 students. The university is ranked 335th in the QS World University Rankings.

이날 우리 대학을 찾은 쾰른대 협정 담당자는 “독일 현지에서 한국에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 일본에 집중돼 있던 기존 파트너십을 확장하고 한국 대학과의 협력을 늘리고자 한다”며, MOU 체결에 대한 긍정적인 메시지를 전했다. 

The University of Cologne representative who visited our university stated, "Interest in Korea is increasing in Germany. We aim to expand beyond our previous focus on Japan and enhance cooperation with Korean universities." These words expressed the influence of increasing interest in Korea, leading to the Memorandum of Understanding signing.

하루 뒤인 20일에는 영국 노팅엄 트렌트대(NTU) 글로벌 디렉터와 동아시아 글로벌 파트너십 시니어 매니저가 우리 대학을 찾았다. 지난해 유럽국제교육자박람회(EAIE, European Association for International Education)에서 처음 우리 대학과 미팅을 진행한 데 이어 추가 협력 방안을 논의하기 위해서다. 

On the following day, the Global Director of Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and the Senior Manager of East Asia Global Partnerships visited our university. After their initial meeting with our university at last year's European Association for International Education (EAIE) conference, they came to discuss further collaboration opportunities.

NTU 관계자들은 논의 과정에서 “영국 체계 상 4주 프로그램이 있다는 것은 반가운 소식”이라며, 특히 우리 대학이 실시하는 여름 단기 프로그램에 큰 관심을 보였다. 

During the discussions, NTU representatives explained the 4-week program within the UK system and showed significant interest in our university's short-term summer programs.

국제처 관계자는 “지난 3년간 우리 대학이 초청한 독일과 영국 학생 수는 170여 명이며, 우리 대학에서 두 국가로 파견된 학생은 200여 명이다. 이번 미팅들을 통해 독일·영국 대학과의 교류가 더욱 활성화될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”고 전했다. 

A representative from the Office of International Affairs stated, "Over the past 3 years, our university has invited around 170 German and British students, and we have sent over 200 students to these two countries. Through these meetings, we anticipate that the exchange with German and British universities will become even more active."
