VISP Credit Track Offerings

Traditional VISP Program Track is what most students have participated in over the years. This track welcomes students from all academic areas provided that they are somewhat flexible in their course enrollment. These students wait until course enrollment (April for summer and fall semester, November for spring) to see what courses they are able to take at UW-Madison.

Thematic VISP Program Tracks welcome students interested in focusing on one academic area of interest. Students in these tracks are guaranteed the majority of their credits within one department even before the students start enrolling, and receive personalized advising from faculty as well as from our VISP Staff. New tracks are added regularly, but your students interested in an area not listed on the thematic track website are welcome to still apply under our traditional VISP track as they have been doing in the past.

VISP Noncredit Offerings

In addition to our credit programs which you are most familiar with, VISP also offers noncredit programming opportunities that would be open to your students. UW Advance provides an intensive, short-term academic and cultural experience under a specific theme.  Students engage in academic workshops, faculty presentations, field trips, and optional English courses to explore trends and developments in the field. Evenings & weekends provide time for cultural & social programming and meeting with local undergraduate and graduate students. Tuition includes airport pickup, housing, optional meal plans, health insurance, in-program transportation, university, instructional & program fees. Questions can be directed to vispnoncredit@dcs.wisc.edu. Registration opens March 1.
