미국 아메리칸대학교(American University) 코갓경영대학(Kogod School of Business) 관계자들이 11일 우리 대학을 방문해 경영대학과의 MOU 체결을 비롯한 학생교류·협력방안을 논의했다.
American University’s Kogod School of Business officials visited CAU on the 11th to discuss student exchange and cooperation, including signing an MOU with Chung-Ang University School of Business Administration.
이날 우리 대학을 찾은 아메리칸대 관계자는 ▲데이빗 마칙(David Marchick) 코갓경영대학장 ▲이관후(Gwanhoo Lee) Information Technology and Analytics 학과장 ▲짐 웨이트(Jim Waite) Alumni Realtions 디렉터다. 김창봉 경영경제대학 학장과 이관영 경영학부 학부장, 권형일 국제처장, 신중범 국제교류팀장이 외빈들을 맞이했다.
American University officials who visited CAU on the day were ▲ David Marchick, Dean of Kogod School of Business, ▲ Gwanhoo Lee, Department Chair of Information Technology and Analytics, and ▲ Jim Waite, Director of Alumni Relations. They were welcomed by Kim Chang-Bong, Dean of the College of Business and Economics, Lee Kaun Young, Department Chair of the School of Economics, Kwon Hyung-il, Vice Provost of International Affairs, and Shin J.B, Director of the International Affairs Team.
아메리칸대는 미국의 수도인 워싱턴 D.C.에 위치한 명문 사립대학이다. 정치 중심지에 위치한특성을 살려 전·현직 연방 상원의원, 하원의원 등 많은 정치인을 배출했다.
American University is a prestigious private university located in Washington D.C., the capital of the United States. Taking advantage of its location at the center of political activity, the university has produced many politicians, including current and former members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
특히 아메리칸대는 Undergraduate International Business 분야에 강점이 있다. 미국 내 대학 랭킹인 U.S. News & World Report(2022-2023)에서 8위를 차지할 정도로 뛰어나단 평을 듣고 있다.
In particular, American University is recognized for its strong program for the study of International Business, which was ranked #8 in Best Graduate Schools among all universities in the United States according to the U.S. News & World Report (2022-2023).
미팅을 통해 두 대학은 경영대학을 기반으로 교환학생, 복수학위 등 협력 가능한 프로그램에 대한 논의를 진행했다. 그 결과 양교간 MOU를 체결하기로 뜻을 모았고, 실질적인 학생교류를 위한 경영대학 간 학생교류에도 합의했다. 협력 프로그램 추진 합의에 대한 결과물로 사전 의향서 체결도 진행했다. 양교간 기념품을 전달하고, 사진을 촬영하는 것으로 이번 방문 프로그램은 모두 마무리됐다.
During the meeting, the two universities discussed potential programs that can be cooperated on based on the schools of business, such as exchange student and dual degree programs. As a result, they decided to sign an MOU between the two universities and also agreed on student exchanges between the business schools for practical cooperation. They also signed a preliminary declaration of intent regarding the cooperative program. The visit was completed with the exchange of commemorative gifts and taking photos.
국제처 관계자는 “이번 미팅을 통해 본교 파견 교환학생들에게 워싱턴 DC라는 새로운 선택지를 제공할 수 있을 것”이라며, “추후 MOU 및 교환학생 협정 체결을 진행할 계획“이라고 말했다.
