CBS announces our annual International Summer University Programme (ISUP) for 2023.

It will be our pleasure to welcome students from partner universities to participate in the programme at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) during the summer of 2023.

Programme dates

Course period:

27 June – 13 July 2023: Short 3-week courses.

26 June – 28 July 2023: Ordinary 6-week courses.

Exam period

Home Assignment written in parallel with the course, 3-week courses: 27 June – 14 July 2023.

Home Assignment written in parallel with the course, 6-week courses: 26 June – 4 August 2023.

4-Hour Written sit-in exam, 3 week courses: 14 July 2023.

4-Hour Written sit-in exam, 6-week courses: 1 August – 4 August 2023.

Please note that to help students get the maximum value of ISUP, courses jump-start the learning process before classes begin. Students are expected to do a preliminary assignment – either a generic test/assignment that will be developed concerning “Nordic Nine” for bachelor/undergraduate courses or an assignment prepared by the course coordinator and Instructor for graduate/master courses. The workload is approx.. 20 hours.

Please note that short courses are very intensive and cannot be taken together with any other course.

Course Catalogue

The Course Catalogue for ISUP 2023 will be announced during December 2022 on https://www.cbs.dk/en/study/international-summer-university/courses-and-exams We will keep you informed about the Course Catalogue for 2023.

We offer both bachelor and graduate courses under the following course categories: Marketing, Management, Finance, Accounting, Corporate & Business Strategy, Communication, Statistics, Innovation & Entrepreneurship etc.

Application round

Students must fill out an online application through www.cbs.dk/isup

Application round: 7 February at 12:00 noon – 14 March at 23:59 midnight (CET), 2023.

Nomination deadline and procedures

Nomination deadline: 20 February 2023.

Students who are nominated by our partner universities participate on a non-tuition exchange basis.

Two nominated students in the summer programme count as one regular semester place regardless of the number of courses students take; in general, we ask nominated exchange students to take two courses at ISUP to get 15 ECTS points in total unless they take one short 3-week course and you are fine with it.

Please include the name of the contact person and university mailing address to which we can send the transcripts. Please note that we do not send transcript in paper format.

You are free to choose if you send students to a regular semester or to the summer programme/ISUP. Students nominated to ISUP 2023 are counted into the exchange balance for the academic year 2023/2024. If you have used all exchange places for the academic year 2023/2024, your students are welcome to join ISUP as fee-paying students. Housing (CBS Accommodation)

Accommodation/housing will be available for international exchange students.

Link to the application for housing will be sent to students by e-mail in April 2023.

Move-in dates: 23 June 2023 at 12:00 noon (CET) the earliest.

Move-out date 3-week courses: 23 July 2023 at 12:00 noon (CET) the latest

Move out-date 6-week courses: 6 August 2023 at 12:00 noon (CET) the latest.

Housing must be financed by the student.

Arrival service

Arrival service will be arranged.

Social programme

Social programme will be available for students.

The social programme will be announced in spring 2023 – it is a wonderful opportunity for international students to get to know each other, Copenhagen, and the Danish culture through specially arranged activities such as guided city tours of Copenhagen, Danish folk-dancing, comedy night as well as a grand weekend trip around Denmark.

Introduction meeting

26 June 2023. Students will get important information about different aspects of ISUP such as studying at CBS, courses, exams, library resources, where to get help etc.

Digital transcripts

Electronic transcripts will confirm the courses taken and grades received. We do not issue certificates of attendance, and we do not indicate failing grades on transcripts.

Visa

Some students who come to Denmark to participate in ISUP will have to apply for a short-term Schengen visa for the duration of the programme. Since students are going to study in Denmark for less than three months, they will not get a student visa. Students can check the Danish Immigration Service homepage to see whether they need to apply for a short-term visa for entering Denmark. Students, who need to apply for a short-term visa to enter Denmark, should apply at the Danish Embassy or Consulate in their home country as early as possible once they have received their letter of acceptance from ISUP Secretariat as it takes up to three months to get a visa.
