Academic Calendar Schedule Adjustment for Prevention
of Novel Coronavirus Infection
We wish all CAU
members the best of health. Due to the spread of coronavirus, the number of
confirmed infections continues to rise in Korea and there is growing concern
over the virus within the local community. In response, the Korean government
raised the national disease response level to Orange to Red. In this situation,
as we put the safety and health of our members on the top priority, we have
delayed the start of the spring semester by two weeks, and canceled or delayed
major events such as the entrance ceremony and commencement ceremony. Since
coronavirus is still not contained, we have decided to take the following
measures for the Spring 2020 semester in response to the current situation.

Academic Calendar Schedule Adjustment
The Spring 2020
Semester will be 15 weeks, from March 16 (Mon) to June 27 (Sat). However, in
order to cover courses scheduled for 16 weeks in 15 weeks, make-up classes will
be provided for the missing week. The adjusted schedule following the delay of
the start and end of the semester will be as follows:

fully refunded if the student drops out or is dismissed by Mar 15 (Sun), 2020
- Students on LOA: Tuition will be fully
refunded if the student applies for LOA by March 29 (Sun), 2020

Graduation Gown Rent and Diploma Distribution
Graduation gowns will
not be rented due to the delay of degree ceremonies, which was decided in
consideration of high risk of infection in crowded places. Diplomas will be distributed by mail and
students unable to visit the campus can receive their graduation albums by
courier service.
We kindly ask for
your understanding regarding the aforementioned adjustments made to put
infection prevention on our top priority considering the worsening coronavirus
situation. The University HQ and all faculty members will spare no effort to
make sure that students do not have any disadvantages regarding their education
due to the virus outbreak. Also, we will closely collaborate with government
agencies to take timely measures including disinfection for infection
prevention and control. Most of all, the health and safety of CAU members is
the most important thing for us. We understand that there could be some inconvenience,
but we ask you for cooperation in following the adjusted school schedule and
infection prevention guidelines provided by different institutions. Please pay
special attention to personal hygiene to wisely cope with the current
situation.
